A common framework for helping to articulate why a project is important and what success looks like is to use an Elevator Speech, or Pitch. An Elevator Speech is a short, persuasive speech you use to introduce yourself, your project, or your call to action. Its purpose is to explain the concept quickly and clearly to spark the interest of the other person.
A good Elevator Speech is one that gets attention, it makes people genuinely interested in the project.
When creating your Elevator Speech, take time to craft your message in a way that gets you to your desired outcome.
A common format, is the 4-part formula:
1). After introducing yourself, describe what the project is about.
2). Explain why the project is important, highlighting key benefits.
3). Explain what success looks like.
4). Close with a call to action.
