Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training

The primary role of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is to act as the organization's eyes and ears, helping to detect when an opportunity might exist for the organization to improve. The Yellow Belt leads local-level improvement efforts that are considered "low hanging fruit", meaning the project complexity is low and that the project can be completed with minimal data and on a short timeline of 60-90 days. In most organization's the Yellow Belts serve as team members on more complex projects, which are led by the organization's Green Belts and Black Belts.

Course Description

The primary role of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is to act as the organization’s eyes and ears, helping to detect when an opportunity might exist for the organization to improve.

The Yellow Belt leads local-level improvement efforts that are considered “low hanging fruit” projects – meaning the project complexity is low and that the project can be completed with minimal data and on a short timeline of 60-90 days. The Yellow Belt’s primary focus is to reduce process waste, making processes easier to perform and more efficient.

In most organizations, the Yellow Belts serve as team members on more complex projects, which are led by the organization’s Green Belts and Black Belts.

Organizational change is challenging, but when you are able to get team members to agree on a common set of principles to drive change, while thinking systemically about how change impacts the org as a whole, the process gets easier. Tom’s teaching is very hopeful. The detail in which he explains the concepts really make sure that they are driven home. Combine that with quizzes and practical examples and the concepts really start to sit in.
